Day 1Arrival in Hong Kong

Upon arrival at Hong Kong Airport, you’ll be greeted by an English-speaking driver who will transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day exploring the vibrant city on your own. Immerse yourself in the diverse culinary delights, lively sounds, and captivating sights of this charming metropolis.
Option 1: Highlights of Hong Kong & Photo Opportunity with Kung Fu Movie Star
Meet your guide and driver at the hotel and head to the peak tram terminus. Ride the tram, one of the oldest funicular railways, to the top of Victoria Peak, the highest point on Hong Kong Island. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour during the Peak Circle Walk, a 1.5-hour stroll covering 3.5 kilometers. Descend the peak and explore the modern streets of Central District. Experience the iconic escalator system connecting the Central Business District with Mid-levels District and savor a local-style meal at Soho Food District, featuring dishes like pork cutlet, egg tart, and wonton noodles.
Next, visit the Avenue of Stars, honoring Hong Kong film industry celebrities. Take photos with life-size bronze statues of martial arts legends Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and Michelle Yeoh. Conclude your tour at Tai Kwun, a heritage and arts center housed in the restored Central Police Station compound. Explore the rich heritage through interactive tours, storytelling spaces, and thematic exhibitions.
Option 2: “Wing Chun” Kung Fu Experience Tour
Embark on a 5-hour journey to experience traditional Chinese martial arts in Hong Kong. Attend a class at the Yip Man Martial Arts Association, led by Master Sam Lau, a direct student of Grandmaster Yip Man, Bruce Lee’s mentor. Learn basic wing chun techniques under the guidance of the master. After the lesson, visit the Bruce Lee: Kung Fu‧Art‧Life exhibition to delve deeper into the life of the kung fu legend. Pay homage to Bruce Lee’s statue at Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui East and enjoy a dim sum meal.

Day 3 Hong Kong - Guangzhou

This morning, take a 2-hour train journey to Guangzhou. Upon arrival, your guide will greet you and begin the tour. First, visit the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, now the Guangdong Museum of Folk Arts and Crafts, showcasing characteristic Guangdong architecture and serving as a place for ancestor worship and study. Next, explore Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Memorial Hall, a commemorative structure honoring the revolutionary leader. It beautifully combines Chinese traditional architectural style with Western elements. Finally, visit the bustling Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, a lively commercial hub with shops offering a variety of goods, including designer items, jewelry, books, and locally produced crafts. Enjoy exploring the vibrant atmosphere and bargaining for bargains in the independent stores.

Day 4 Explore Foshan - the Hometown of Yp Man

In the morning, meet your guide at the hotel and take a taxi to the subway station for the GuangFo Line to Foshan. Foshan, renowned for its rich history and martial arts traditions, offers a fascinating glimpse into Cantonese culture. Upon arrival, visit the Foshan Ancestral Temple, known for its well-preserved ancient architecture and vibrant folk culture. Explore the temple complex, which includes the Ancestral Temple, Confucius Temple, Huang Feihong Memorial Hall (dedicated to another renowned Kung Fu master), and Ip Man Hall. Various folk culture activities are available, including Lion Dance and Cantonese Opera performances, with some requiring additional fees. Next, visit Liang Garden, a traditional private garden dating back to 1796, featuring pagodas, sculptures, and beautiful landscaped gardens. Finally, explore the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln, where you can witness the production of ceramics dating back 500 years. After the tour, return to Guangzhou by metro.

Day 5 Guangzhou - Luoyang

At the scheduled time, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport for your flight to Luoyang. Upon arrival, your guide will greet you at the airport. Luoyang, once known as “The Capital of Nine Dynasties,” holds significant historical importance as one of the cradles of Chinese civilization. To gain a deeper understanding of this historic city, your first stop will be the Luoyang Museum. This comprehensive museum boasts a vast collection of over 400,000 historical relics, with 11,000 items on display for visitors. Following your museum visit, take a leisurely stroll through the old city quarters, admiring their sturdy structures and soaking in the atmosphere of this ancient city.

Day 6 Shaolin Temple with Kung Fu Performance

Experience the highlights of Dengfeng County with a tour to the renowned Shaolin Temple, located approximately 1.5 hours away from Luoyang by car. Founded in 495 during the Northern Wei Dynasty, the temple is famous worldwide for its association with Shaolin martial arts. Explore the temple grounds and marvel at its rich history and cultural significance. Witness captivating Chinese Kung Fu performances and admire the ancient Pagoda Forest, a unique collection of historic pagodas.
Next, ascend Sanhuangzhai via cable car, situated on the western foot of the Songshan Shaoshi Mountains. This area is a prominent feature of the Songshan Shaolin Scenic Area and offers breathtaking natural landscapes. Embark on a hiking adventure to discover the plank bridge, an architectural marvel built into the mountainside. Take in the magnificent views of the surrounding scenery before concluding the tour and returning to Luoyang.

Day 7 Luoyang-Beijing

In the morning, embark on a visit to the renowned Longmen Grottoes, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2000. These grottoes feature an exceptional display of human artistic talent, with sculptures dating back to the late Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties (316-907). Carved into the limestone cliffs, the Longmen Grottoes boast the largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art from this period. These intricately crafted sculptures, dedicated to the Buddhist religion, represent the pinnacle of Chinese stone carving.
After exploring the Longmen Grottoes, transfer to the rail station for a high-speed train journey to Beijing. The approximately 4-hour train ride offers a comfortable and convenient way to travel to the capital city. Upon arrival in Beijing, you will be warmly greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel.

Day 8: Beijing

In the morning, meet your guide at the hotel and proceed to Jingshan Park, a former imperial garden adjoining the Forbidden City. From the peak of the park, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the Forbidden City, especially on sunny days. Afterward, stroll through Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world, before entering the Forbidden City itself. This vast complex, constructed between 1406 and 1420, served as the residence for 24 emperors and their households, as well as the political and ceremonial hub of Chinese governance.
In the afternoon, embark on a pedicab tour to explore Beijing’s traditional alleyways known as Hutongs. These narrow lanes offer a glimpse into the daily lives of locals, where families engage in activities, purchase goods, gossip, and socialize.

Consider attending “The Legend of Kung Fu Show,” a captivating performance that showcases the best Kung Fu practitioners in China. Directed and designed by top talents in the country, this show seamlessly blends modern dance with traditional Chinese martial arts, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. With English subtitles provided above the stage, audiences can easily follow the storyline as they witness the incredible feats of Kung Fu, dance, and acrobatics.

Day 9 Beijing

In the morning, depart from your hotel for the Huanghuacheng section of the Great Wall, located approximately 70km from Beijing. Known as the only lakeside Great Wall in the city, Huanghuacheng stretches for 13km and offers a serene and less crowded experience compared to other sections such as Badaling and Mutianyu. One of its unique features is that some parts of the wall are submerged underwater, providing a distinctive and picturesque view. Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in this tranquil setting and, if you wish, practice Kungfu against the backdrop of this historic landmark.
 
After your exploration of the Great Wall, return to the city and visit the Summer Palace, a former imperial garden during the Qing Dynasty. Situated northwest of Beijing, this architectural masterpiece is renowned for its exquisite Chinese landscape garden design and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998. Explore the palace grounds and marvel at its outstanding aesthetic value as you delve into its rich history and cultural significance.

Day 10 : Free Day in Beijing

Enjoy some leisure time to explore the bustling city of Beijing at your own pace. This is a great opportunity to experience the local public transportation system, including buses, subways, and taxis. Be sure to carry your hotel’s card with you in case you need assistance finding your way back.
Here are some suggestions for how to spend your free time:
  1. Visit the Temple of Heaven: Explore this well-preserved complex of altar buildings, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1998. Learn about its historical significance and architectural beauty.
  2. Discover Yonghe Lamasery: Located in the northeast corner of Beijing, this Tibetan Buddhist temple boasts a rich history spanning hundreds of years. Marvel at its intricate architecture and immerse yourself in its spiritual atmosphere.
  3. Explore Wangfujing Snack Street: Wander down this narrow alley off the main walking street and indulge in a culinary adventure. Sample a variety of local delicacies, including deep-fried insects and other unique street foods. Keep in mind that some offerings are meant to attract tourists’ attention rather than being everyday fare.

Day 11 : Beijing Departure

At the designated time, you will be met at your hotel and transferred to Beijing airport for your departure flight back home, concluding your 11-day China Kung Fu tour.
